Cary, NC, August 7, 2023 – 6 qualifiers earned their spots in the main draw of the Atlantic Tire Championships Summer Series today, as well as players moving on to the round of 16.

Keegan Smith (USA) defeated Tyler Zink (USA) in a tight 3-set match with a final score of 6-7(2); 6-2; 6-3 to earn his spot in the main draw. Smith won 83% of his 1st serve points throughout the match and saved 100% (5/5) of break points. Smith is currently 25 years old and is from Wilmington, North Carolina. Karl Poling, Quinn Vandecasteel, Blake Ellis, Stefan Dostanic, and Billy Harris also earned their spots in the main draw today.

Matches concluded at 7pm due to the weather, so the unfinished and remaining main draw matches will be played tomorrow. Adam Walton, Gijs Brouwer and Alexander Ritschard all earned their spot in the round of 16 today with wins in their first round matches. The other 3 matches that were rained out tonight will be played tomorrow.

Matches will still begin play at 2pm on Tuesday, August 7th. We are excited for more tennis and high energy matches as the week progresses!
