Cary, NC, August 9, 2023 – Doubles play began today at the Atlantic Tire Championships Summer Series along with 4 matches of the round of 16 singles. A total of 12 matches were played today.

Doubles 2-seed Niklas-Salminen and Stevens were upset by Kania and Kittay 6-1; 6-2. Kania and Kittay won 88% of their first serve points and saved 100% of their break points. Doubles one-seed King and Stalder advanced in a tight match ending at 6-7(7); 7-5; 1-0 (7). King and Stalder saved 8/10 of their break points throughout the match.

In singles, Adam Walton, Rinky Hijikata, Ryan Peniston, and Nicolas Moreno de Alboran all advance to the quarterfinals with their wins today. The quarterfinals of doubles are set and match play will begin at 3:30pm on Thursday.
