Cary, NC, September 15, 2022 – We had the incredible opportunity to host the Business After Hours at Cary Tennis Park and want to thank Rey’s restaurant for the fantastic appetizers. We are very thankful for the support of the Chamber and the Cary business community for their support of the Atlantic Tire Championships.

In singles play, #2 seed Jordan Thompson, Yasutaka Uchiyama, and Nick Chappell all advanced to the quarterfinals. Thompson beat Juncheng Shang in a marathon three-hour and 32-minute match 7-6(4); 6-7(10); 6-2. Thompson won 83% of his first serve points and 71% of his total service points. Uchiyama won 6-4; 2-0 (withdrawal) and Chappell won 6-4; 4-6; 6-2.

In doubles, #4 seed Huey and Smith advanced 7-6(6); 6-4, and Cash and Patten won 6-7(7); 6-4; 1-0 (5) in a close match where they won 79% of their first serve points. Both teams will play in the semifinals in hopes of advancing to the championship on Saturday.
