Cary, NC, September 17, 2023 – The singles final was played indoors today due to the rain. 20 year old Zachary Svajda defeated 22 year old Rinky Hijikata in a tight 2 hour 45 minute match.

The final score was 7-6(3); 4-6; 6-1 and Svajda won 80% of his first serve throughout the match. The American is playing his next Challenger this week in Columbus, Ohio and is originally from La Jolla, California. He has played the ATC Challenger in Cary the last couple years and is always excited for the “well-organized and awesome event.” We are excited to call him the champion of this tournament and hope to see him back next year!
