Cary, NC, September 15, 2023 – Singles quarterfinals and doubles semis were played today to kick off the weekend in Cary.

Cary’s own Patrick Kypson defeated six seed Tennis Sandgren 7-6(4); 6-3 in the final singles match of the day. Kypson won 89% of his 1st serve points and saved 100% of break points throughout the match. He will face one-seed Rinky Hijikata on Saturday afternoon for a spot in the singles championship.

In doubles, William Blumberg and Luis David Martinez defeated Toby Samuel and Connor Thomson 7-6(3); 6-4. Rinky Hijikata and Andrew Harris won in a close match 6-3; 3-6; 10-8, and will face Blumberg and Martinez in the doubles championship on Saturday afternoon.
