Norrie and King will Face Off in the Championship Singles Match
CARY, NC, September 16, 2017 – Kevin King defeated No. 6 Noah Rubin, the only remaining seeded singles player, to advance to Sunday’s Championship match. King, a 2015 Quarterfinalist at the tournament, served strong winning 78% of his first service points. The Georgia Tech alumni also served nine aces.
In the other semifinal match, Cameron Norrie defeated Marcelo Arevalo. Norrie who attended Texas Christian University but turned pro at the end of his junior year, won his match in two decisive sets. Norrie is looking to claim his second Challenger trophy after winning the Binghamton Challenger in July 2017. Marcelo Arevalo returned for the final match of the evening, pairing with his doubles partner, Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela, to defeat the No. 1 seed of Austin Krajicek and Jackson Withrow. Arevalo and Reyes-Varela will be seeking their third doubles Challenger title for 2017.
