CARY, NC, November 9, 2020 – In the first day of competition at the Atlantic Tire Championships, four Americans advanced to the second round of 32 player draw.  First to advance was Duke University standout and Wildcard recipient Garrett Johns.  Johns dropped the first set but ultimately won 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. 

Georgia Tech alumnus Chris Eubanks was next to secure a spot in the second round by winning a hard-fought match, 7-5, 7-5.  Denis Kudla, 2ndseed of the tournament, also advanced by winning his first-round match, 6-2, 6-1.  To complete the day, Michael Mmoh cruised through the second set of his match to win, 7-5, 6-0. 

The Atlantic Tire Championships is in its 5th year as an USTA Pro Circuit event.
